Route 1 – Aðalstræti & Old Harbor Heritage

  • Start at Aðalstræti 10, Reykjavík’s oldest street.

  • Visit the Settlement Exhibition (outside if closed, plaques visible).

  • Walk toward Ingólfstorg Square, lined with historic buildings.

  • Continue to the Old Harbor, with colorful warehouses now cafés and galleries.

  • Return along Tryggvagata for evening harbor views.

Route 2 – Tjörnin Pond & Government Area

  • Begin at Tjörnin pond, circling past historic timber houses.

  • Stop by the Fríkirkjan church (1905 wooden church).

  • Pass the Reykjavík City Hall and cross to Austurvöllur Square.

  • See Parliament House (Alþingi, built 1881).

  • End at Hotel Borg and Dómkirkjan, both historic landmarks.

Route 3 – Grjótaþorp Neighborhood
